Bernadette van Dalen is a Wanganui artist. She grew up around the Bombay area. Bernadette van Dalen studied art at the Quay School of the Arts. She graduated in 1996 with a Diploma of Fine Arts (Major: Printmaking). She returned to Wanganui in 2002 to complete her degree in sculpture. Bernadette has worked at Manuaku Institute of Technology as a Printmaking Technician for a period of three years. She has also taught Printmaking in a Rutherford College Foundation Programme for two and half years. Bernadette is currently a full time student at Massey University, completing the Graduate Diploma in Secondary School Teaching. She is a practicing artist. She has lived and worked in South Korea for a period of nearly three years. She has also lived and worked in Shezhen, China for five months.
