  Christodoulos Moisa     
     

Christodoulos E.G. Moisa was born from Greek Cypriot parents in 1948 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. He was educated at Mount Cook School, Wellington College, Victoria and Auckland Universities, the sir John Cass School of Art and finally gained a BFA from Wanganui Polytechnic / UCOL Wanganui, in Printmaking.
The bamboo prints shown here are from the “The Dance of Life” series of 14 work completed in 2002.
Moisa is a well known painter, photographer, art critic, book reviewer, publisher of One Eyed Press and an award winning poet and has had many exhibitions of paintings, drawings and prints throughout New Zealand. As a artist who is committed in collaborating with others Moisa has illustrated the work of many New Zealand poets such as Peter Olds, Michael Harlow, Iain Sharp, and Wyn Jones.
His latest project “Shade of Black” is part of a series of drawings and paintings began in 1982. Moisa is currently living in Wanganui and is Head of Visual and Performing Arts at Wanganui Girls’ College.
