My work examines my cultural position in New Zealand. I am a Chinese who immigrated to New Zealand at a young age. I am dealing with the cultural differences between the two ethnicities in my art making. Though my identity is not stated, it exists but is constantly changing through a blend of cultures brought together through the every day experience. In my shop installation "Buy China Made", it focuses on the idea of designer labels and consumerisms, as a metaphor of being a young artist searching to be found in the contemporary art scene.
