In today’s fluid societies many of us no longer live in our ancestral homelands. In addition we are bombarded though aggressive media, most destructively television, with images of life foreign to us, its moral and ethical values, its view of history and reality imposed as the norm. A view, I believe, often distorted for dramatic, fiscal and political reasons. To combat this I am currently exploring the role ones cultural background plays in sustaining a sense of identity for those of us who are removed from the source.
