Victoria Rodgers graduated from the WRCP (Now UCOL) Bachelor
of Fine Arts programme in 2000 with a Merit Distinction in
Studio Practice. In her final year she also achieved selection
in the prestigious RFC Glass Prize (Now the Ranamok Glass
Prize). After graduation, Victoria travelled overseas and
on her return was appointed Artist in Resident: Glass Programme
at UCOL in 2003. In 2004 she set up a studio practice in Wanganui
and taught part time in the Glass Dept. Victoria has been
consistently accepted into juried shows such as the Norsewear
and Wanganui Regional Art Awards and the highlight for her,
to date, is an invitation to exhibit at the Museum of American
Glass in the International “Particle Theories: International
Pate de Verre and Other Cast Glass Granulation”. In
this very prestigious exhibition she is the only New Zealander
and is exhibiting alongside the world’s top pate de
verre artists. Her preferred method of glassmaking is the
ancient form of pate de verre meaning literally, a paste of
glass.
